After 16 challenging months away from our beloved studio at The Mandela Centre, Chapeltown, RJC Dance is delighted to share that we are restarting in-person sessions.
First to return home to the RJC Dance Studio, will be our Carnival Dance Camp from Monday 9 August - Friday 13 August, with numbers limited to ensure the safety of all participants and our staff. RJC Dance returns from the summer break on Monday 13 September and we will return to the studio in-person with a new timetable of sessions. To see the new timetable and apply for your in-person place, go to our classes and events page from Wednesday 11th August.
Between now and our reunion, rest assured that RJC Dance is making every effort to ensure that The Mandela Centre is Covid-safe. We have invested in a deep clean of the building and are placing waymarkers to encourage social distancing. Hand gel will be available in all spaces, rooms will be well ventilated and contact areas such as door handles and handrails will be sanitised regularly. We will encourage all visitors and staff over 12 years old (unless they are exempt) to continue wearing face masks when indoors and when not dancing.
We recently surveyed many of you and were grateful for your feedback on whether you’re happy to return in person or would prefer to continue accessing our sessions online. Unsurprisingly, there is real excitement from many to come back and dance together in person. However, we recognise that for some adults, joining in online is better for them. To that end, we intend to livestream our Adult Community class so that participants have a choice to either take part in the Studio, or at home. This will continue as long as interest is still there. We are also continuing with our elders, Active Communities class online.
If you have any questions or concerns about our return to in-person sessions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We can’t wait to see you all soon!
