RJC Dance Youth Provision group Shahck Out Youth Dance performed ‘Togetherness’ choreographed by Nillanthie Morton, at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) Party in the Park 40th Anniversary celebration event as part of the Kaleidoscope project.
The event was held at Norma Hutchinson Park in Chapeltown on Saturday 11 July 2026 to mark NSCD’s 40th anniversary and celebrate the incredible people, creativity and culture that have shaped the school over four decades.
With the sun shining and the audience cheering them on, our young dancers brought incredible energy to the stage. Their performance was a brilliant showcase of teamwork, confidence and excellence, and a true reflection of what Shahck Out Youth Dance is all about.
For Nillanthie, the performance was also a special full-circle moment, bringing together his experience as an NSCD student with everything he has built and embodies through RJC Dance.
Nillanthie said:
“The inspiration behind the piece is Celebration – combining moments from my NSCD 3rd year showcase piece, which I performed as a student when studying at NSCD, and everything I embody at RJC Dance which is togetherness, energy and good vibes”
And the celebrations didn’t end there!
Nillanthie then took to the stage himself, this time leading a mass-participation dance workshop for event attendees.
From old-school tunes to infectious Soca rhythms, everyone was invited to get involved, and the result was a proper RJCD-style dance party! There was dancing, laughter, plenty of energy and, most importantly, a wonderful sense of community.
It was a real dance masterclass and a fantastic opportunity to get people of all ages moving together.
Being part of such a special event was a fantastic opportunity for RJC Dance and Shahck Out Youth Dance, celebrating our history as part of the school.
A huge thank you to NSCD and the Kaleidoscope organisers for creating such a brilliant day.
And a massive well done to Shahck Out Youth Dance. You brought the sunshine, the energy and the good vibes! 🌞🔥
