As part of our project ‘Shahck Out Speak Out’, our Youth Provision members had the opportunity to attend the theatre show of Pied Piper at Leeds Playhouse presented by BAC Beatbox Academy 🎤🎭

Our Junior Ambassador and Senior Ambassador accompanied 6 Shack Out Youth Dance members who are completing their Silver Arts Award.

“The Pied Piper was a very diverse and creative way of using beatboxing and music to make a show. It is very impressive how much they achieved with such a small group. I was very surprised and loved the audience involvement. I came away inspired to smash my future performance”

Sienna, RJCD Junior Ambassador

Shahck Out Speak Out, funded by Leeds Community Foundation, aims to address mental health inequalities in minority ethnicities. Attending the theatre provides a communal, immersive experience that promotes emotional release, reduces stress and fosters a sense of connection, leaving audience members feeling more joyful and inspired.

I especially liked it when they bought on people of all ages to show the people of the city because it showed that anyone is capable of beatboxing and performing”

Martha, Youth Provision Member

We were definitely inspired by the incredible talent of the cast, who we were lucky enough to get a photo with! 💫
