RJC Dance Shahck Out Boyz will be performing at Leeds Light Night on Wednesday 28 October & Thursday 29 October as part of Astralis: Of the Stars, a creative collaboration between the University of Leeds, RJC Dance and High Esteem Designs.
Inspired by the wonder of the night sky and the vibrancy of carnival arts, Astralis combines dance choreography by Nillanthie Morton, costume design and live performance to create a unique Winter Carnival experience for Light Night Leeds, with performances taking place at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm at the University Zone outside the Sign for Art.
The Astralis concept and costumes have been co-created with three young creatives from RJC Dance alumni, giving them the opportunity to help shape a major public artwork and performance for one of the city’s celebrated cultural events. Working alongside artists, designers and engineers, they have contributed ideas that have shaped the creative direction of the project.
