With lockdown restrictions easing across retail and hospitality, we’re all looking forward to meeting in person here at RJC Dance too. Unfortunately, at the moment it isn’t possible at our base at the Mandela Centre. We’re currently sharing the building with one of the largest COVID-19 testing centres in Leeds, and while their team are working hard to keep the pandemic at bay, it isn’t safe for our staff, children/young people or visitors to also be in the space. We are in constant communication with Leeds City Council about the arrangements, and expect to start planning our return later in the summer.

In the meantime, rest assured we’ll continue to offer a fantastic programme of online activities for all ages. We have:

  • KidzZone, a free Facebook Live session every Saturday morning for younger children and their family.
  • Youth Theatre, in partnership with Leeds Playhouse, making future directors, actors and screenwriters of our rising stars
  • Youth Provision sessions, which we’re keeping free of charge while they’re still online, thanks to funding from Mohn Westlake.
  • Adult Community Class, every Thursday evening with Nillanthie bringing the positive vibes, the tunes and of course, the moves.
  • Adults & Elders, a great new session every Friday lunchtime to get the older generation moving, smiling and feeling great

… and stay tuned for some more surprises we have up our sleeves.

If you’re missing us all (we’re certainly missing you!), don’t forget you can stay in touch on our social media channels – we love hearing from you – we’re on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, with daily updates on the latest happenings here at RJC Dance.

Stay safe, stay positive, and stay active.
