At RJC Dance, we believe that movement goes beyond the studio. It’s about connection, exploration and growing together. That’s why we were thrilled to take 12 incredible members of our Youth Provision on a day trip to the stunning Malham Cove in the Yorkshire Dales, thanks to our wonderful partnership with the National Parks Community Champions project.
From the moment we stepped off the minibus, the adventure began! Guided by the fantastic Lorraine and Jamila, our young people were immersed in the great outdoors, learning how to read maps, navigate unfamiliar terrain and experience nature in its purest form. The sun was shining, the views were breathtaking and spirits were high as we explored the landscape and, quite literally, conquered new heights.
This trip wasn’t just about fresh air and fantastic views. It was a meaningful experience that tied directly into the heart of our work. Our 2025 Leeds West Indian Carnival troupe, BANYAN, is all about protecting our natural world, from wildlife to sustainability and conservation.
A huge thank you to Lorraine and Jamila at National Parks Community Champions for organising this unforgettable day, to Wendy for her brilliant support and to Patrick, our driver, for getting us there and back safely.
And of course, a massive well done to all the amazing Youth Provision members who came along. You were curious, courageous and completely fabulous.
