Members of RJC Dance and Mango Arts Leeds West Indian Carnival Winning Troupe 2024, AZUL, had the pleasure of parading and performing at Sandhaven Beach in South Shields as part of the Beach of Dreams festival.
We had a wonderful time and were warmly welcomed by both local residents and holiday makers. The sun was shining as we bought the spirit of Carnival to the North East coast, creating a joyful and vibrant cultural exchange that was truly a pleasure to be a part of.
One of our performers said:
“We had an amazing day from start to finish. The ocean themed costumes looked fantastic next to the ocean, it was great bringing culture to the North East and seeing how much the crowd enjoyed the experience. RJC Dance organised the trip to perfection, keeping to time, making sure there was always a staff member to hand and cheering us on throughout the event with enthusiasm. This was one of our favourite memories with RJC Dance.”
A huge thank you to The Creative Seed for inviting us, your hospitality and great energy – and the fish and chips were delicious!
