Carnival is almost here. Are you ready for a full day of dancing, music, energy and fun?

We have put together some of our top tips and insider information so whether it is your first time or twentieth time, you know what to expect on the day.

What are the "do not miss" things I need to see/do?

  • Food stalls

What should I bring?

  • LOTS OF ENERGY

  • Keep yourself hands-free – bring a padded strapped rucksack

  • Protection from the elements

    • Sunhat/cap

    • Suncream

    • Sunglasses

    • Spray bottle with water to keep cool or a handheld fan/batteryfan

    • Umbrella (just in case)

    • Ear defenders or earplugs if you want to reduce the noise

    • Hoodie/layer to keep warm in the evening

  • Picnic blacket to sit in the park

  • Wear good supportive trainers with a chunky sole

  • Pack a lunch / snacks

  • Pocket money to taste the delights of carnival cuisine & purchase any souvenirs

  • Full charge battery on phone

  • Bring a power bank

  • Bring a whistle or a horn, and a bandana to wave

  • Wear something colourful and comfortable

  • Stay hydrated – bring water

How should I prepare for a full day of Carnival?

  • Get a good night’s sleep the day before and a hearty breakfast in the morning

  • Start the day happy – leave the house happy!

  • Positive attitude.

  • Take pictures & get selfies!

  • Pace yourself

  • Be ready to DANCE & MAKE SOME NOISE!
