DE-NAPOLI CLARKE - ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
De-Napoli trained in Leeds at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance and was a founder member of RJC Dance. He has been a performer with KoKuma Dance Theatre, Nexus Dance Company and with Stomp. He also choreographed and was Rehearsal Director for Nubian Steps and Movement Director for Master Juba, London. De-Napoli is featured on PodScreen's "Steps In Time" at the new Leeds Museum, and was recently voted Community Hero in the 2009 Leeds Black Awards. His freelance career has taken him nationally and internationally as a dancer, choreographer, rehearsal director and a drum and percussion tutor.

KATHY WILLIAMS - DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Kathy is a former British Olympic gymnast who trained in Leeds at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Having qualified with a BSC in Dance, she became a founder member, dance performer and tutor with RJC Dance in 1993. Kathy is a qualified therapeutic counsellor, part time qualified youth worker, qualified artistic gymnastics coach and she has acquired the Diploma for Connexions Personal Advisors.

ANDREW PROCTER - ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
Andrew Procter is our Administration Manager. He has worked in the arts sector since obtaining an MA in Cultural Policy and Management in 2000. Andrew is keenly interested in music and when not boarding The SoulTrain can be found following his other passion of following Burnley's return to the Premiership.

| RJC Dance is Britain's most popular and consistently successful Black British-led contemporary dance company. RJC Dance was established in 1993 and tours nationally and internationally from its base at The Mandela Centre in Chapeltown, Leeds. The Company's dance works have influenced a generation of young choreographers and dance practitioners. |

RJC Dance's work is created from a Black British Perspective, with a truly broad appeal to diverse audiences both culturally and socially. Reggae, Jazz and Contemporary dance styles influence the company's choreographic approach, which fuses social dance forms with contemporary dance today. |
The most recent touring productions have been The DANCICAL, SOMA, MEKWAE and J2RnB, with performances at the Madrid En Danza Festival in Spain, and Breakin' Walls Dance Festival in the Netherlands. After opening at the decibel xtrax showcase in Manchester, The DANCICAL toured the UK briefly in June 2005 and again in March 2007 to great critical and audience acclaim. |

| Youth and Education work is at the heart of RJC Dance's provision. The company is distinguished by the combination of exciting, technically accomplished dancers, who are also rigorous and inspiring teachers. RJC Dance's youth dance groups have performed by special invitation up and down the country with distinctive, high quality and dynamic dance performance work. |
How to find us

RJC Dance is based in the Mandela Centre, Chapeltown Road, Leeds LS7 3HY (opposite and below the NSCD). The entrance is from the car park at the rear of the building.
By Car (from Leeds City Centre)
Follow the signs to Harrogate until you pick up signs to Chapeltown. The Mandela Centre is just beyond the Sheepscar interchange on the left. Take the first left turn into Savile Mount and left down Husler Place to the car park.
By Car (from the North)
At the A61/A6120 roundabout on the Leeds Outer Ring Road, follow signs to Leeds. At next immediate roundabout take Harrogate Road (not the A61) through Moortown and Chapel Allerton. Harrogate Road then turns into Chapeltown Road and you will pass the NSCD on your left. Take the next right turn into Savile Mount and first left down Husler Place to the car park.
By Train
There are frequent trains from most parts of the UK. Leeds City Station is in the centre of Leeds and is a ten minute taxi ride from the Mandela Centre.
By Bus
Regular services 2, 3, 3A and 46 from the city centre to Chapeltown stop directly outside the Mandela Centre |
