Youth Provision
Working with young people
Youth, education and community work is at the heart of RJC Dance's provision.

The RJC Dance artistic team provide authentic and positive role models who originate from the Black community in Chapeltown, Leeds, and who unceasingly communicate their passion for dance. This infectious enthusiasm features as special aspect of RJC Dance's work and contributes to the creation of a positive and exciting dance experience for the participants.

RJC Dance is gifted in engaging young people from all backgrounds. The company has a strong desire to offer young people an authentic experience that focuses on how dance can unlock their potiential rather than limiting their dance experience to the perfection of technique. This placement of value on the expressive power of dance creates a non-threatening and enjoyable learning environment for participants.

RJC Dance's emphasis on creativity and diversity amongst young people provides a unique focus for the company's work.

RJC Dance continues to break the glass ceiling that prevents young people from fulfilling their creative potential by testing approaches and creating models that place creativity and self expression at the centre of its youth dance and education work.
